Little Kahuna

We are home from a wonderful weekend in Galveston with the Parkers and Pavys, a trip a year in the making and carefully timed around the arrivals of three new babies among us. It was John's first time to see the "ocean", and who would have thought our timid little guy would turn out to be such a beach bum?!

He had such a blast and wasn't at all afraid of the water -- in fact, he charged right on out in the water as fast as he could to get away from us holding on to him, saying "Hand stuck!" when we tried to hold his hands. Then he would stand on one foot in hopes of falling down in the water. The sand and seaweed weren't as popular, though -- just another excuse to head back out for more waves.

First Steps

Too interested in the water to look at the camera...

"Mama, hold you!"

Playing with LL, AG, and Aubrey

John and his friends Aubrey, Will, Anna Grace, and Laura were so much fun and so well behaved! They all got along great. (OK, Will made things pretty easy. :-)) And we had fun, too, enjoying a relaxing visit with friends in spite of the rain and clouds.

John even enjoyed his first (co-ed -- gasp!) slumber party, sharing a room with Anna Grace and sleeping in a BIG bed (actually, a mattress on the floor). He did so well, and even waited for us to come get him in the mornings before getting out of bed. Though, we have no idea how long he was sitting there waiting ...

Napping in our bed -- the pack and play is SO over!

First trip to the beach, first time to sleep in a big bed -- the only way to top those things would be to have his first, very-own ice cream cone. This didn't go as well, however -- ice cream cones tend to drip, and when Tommy tried to help him out, the whole thing was ruined. It might as well have been peppermint flavored ice cream for the way John reacted!

All in all, a great weekend. Thanks guys -- can't wait to do it again!

Excuse me, but I don't see any pictures of Ruth in a bathing suit. Mom says you promised. I actually am not sure if you are pregnant or whether it is all an urban legend??

Love, Alix

How fun! And look at John with all those girls! He seems to be preparing well for his new sister. Miss you all!

I guess Tommy is starting John early with playing the odds with the girls...just a numbers game that has to pay off sometime! :)Hopefully John can be as lucky as his daddy!

Sounds like someone really liked that popular NBC sitcom "Will Anna Grace"?
