Weekend Fun

We have been busy the last few days, and John has mostly been a trooper for all of it. On Thursday, we went out to Dell Diamond to watch the Round Rock Express play the Astros in an exhibition game. John was a little (OK, a lot) freaked out at first by all the crowds and the noise in the stands, but once he tasted some cotton candy and started playing with Aubrey, he had a lot of fun.

Last night, we went out to Chuy's for dinner. John entertained himself through the hour-long wait by climbing all over the rocks and making Tommy chase him around the patio. I'm still trying to figure out where half a basket of chips and a side of fries fit into the food pyramid.

This morning we all went to the park, and then tonight we had dinner with our friends Evan and Tonyia, who are expecting their first baby this summer. John gave them his best demonstration of what to look forward to in the toddler years -- a full-blown tantrum and meltdown as soon as we arrived, with plenty of tears and screaming. Oh, it was fun for everyone. But they were good sports and might even have us over again someday.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

The title of your blog caught my attention. Why "A bug's life"?

I also really like the drawing of your family on your profile.
