Here are just a few of the conversations I've had to conduct through pantomime in the last few days:
-- Explaining to the maintenance man that I do not have a set of mailbox keys, only two sets that don't fit the mailbox, and could he please change the lock
-- Telling the delivery driver (over the security system's speaker phone) to wait where he was (somewhere in the building) so I could figure out where he was
-- Convincing the water delivery woman to leave the new bottle even though the old one wasn't empty yet, and that I would leave the empty one in the hallway
Language classes cannot start soon enough.
