So thrilled to report that our dear friends Matthew and Jessica welcomed a SON early Wednesday morning -- Andrew Tyndale Rankin, 7 lbs, 20 inches, blond spiky hair. Can't wait to see pictures (hint, hint!)
And in a much less important but still thrilling development, we had our first Shanghai playdate today -- organized by another expat mom in our compound, which I found out about through the ShanghaiMamas Yahoo group. I bundled up the kids for the brief walk to her building. Imagine my surprise to find that she was A) from Houston and B) an Aggie, c/o 2000! (Whoop!) She went to TAMU-Galveston but traveled back to CS for all the games, and her husband is an Aggie too. She was a font of helpful information and is taking me to the grocery store tomorrow.
So it was a really good day. :-)
