Lucy Coleman Connell, 1996-2010

It's a very sad day for our family. Our dog Lucy has passed away. She gave us almost fifteen wonderful years, but her health declined rapidly over the last 6 months. She had been living out in Brenham with Papa and Grandma Valerie since we left for Shanghai, and I can't think of a better place for her to have spent her golden years. We are thankful that we were back in Austin long enough to spend time with her and to get to say goodbye.

If all dogs do indeed go to heaven, our Lucy girl is surely going to be joyriding around the hereafter in a Mustang convertible, enjoying all the Stop N' Go hot dogs she can eat.

Lucy, you were one of a kind. Thank you for letting us be your people. We'll never forget you.

Welcome home, Lucy! Born March 15, 1996 -- adopted July 25, 1996.

Wherever the kids were, Lucy was never far away.

How I will always remember her -- smiling in the sunshine
