Long Time No Post

Yeah, I know, Kristin. You want an update. :-)

We've had a busy, busy week or two! Last week was completely full with seeing friends and enjoying the chance to get out of the house after the big freeze. And then we had so much fun with Nana (or Nina, or Nanny, as John was calling her by the end of her visit) who came to visit from Minnesota this past weekend.

John is talking all the time. And I mean ALL the time. Like, when he is usually -- and supposed to be -- asleep. Usually it's a running conversation with his toys and stuffed animals, punctuated by random yet enthusiastic "O-KAY!"s every minute or so. But the last week he's added a new, oft-repeated demand to the mix: "Blue Fire." Much like the blue fork, only the blue pacifier will do, or so we've been told. At 1 a.m. In a loud voice. So yeah, we've been a little short on sleep.

But he's keeping us entertained, bleary eyed though we may be. He loves to run up the stairs, open and shut the doors, give hugs and kisses (for this, he just allows you to kiss him on the cheek), color at his new table, watch Dora, and ride on his rocking horse. Oh, and to go outside. This last one has proved to be a little problematic with the 40 degree temps and drizzle, but we're managing.

Next up -- swim class with Victor and Dawn, which starts on Monday. The YMCA website tells us that the boys will learn things like jumping into the pool and voluntarily ducking under water. Yeah, right.

The Y might be amending their class descriptions once they get a load of these boys! Remind me again why we are doing this.
