School Daze

Somehow, when we weren't paying attention, we went from this:

To this:

The boy is two weeks into kindergarten and he absolutely loves it. He marched right in on the first day without even the tiniest bit of fear or hesitation and has been as happy as a clam ever since. When I ask him about his favorite part of each day, he always says, "Oh, it's ALL my favorite. I don't have any parts that weren't my favorite." He has the most precious teacher imaginable, and has made fast friends with two sweet little boys -- to hear John tell it, the three of them spend every recess playing Star Wars together. So I'm guessing that he likes it well enough.

Here are some more pictures from the first few days:

Walking to his room on the first day. Notice how he's not even looking around to see where we are.

Finding his seat and his pencil box.

With Sally, his Minnesota Common Loon, at the Kindergarten Teddy Bear Parade. They toured the whole school and finished up with a picnic on the playground.

Cheering on the home team with his buddies!

The Umbrella Parade -- and it actually rained that day!
