I asked John if he was learning the Pledge of Allegiance at school, and he said that, yes, he was. So, I asked him to say it for me.
The Presbyterians reading will appreciate the unforeseen consequences of trying to memorize too many creeds at one time, because this is what I heard from the back seat:
"... one nation, under God, indivisible, was crucified, dead and buried, with liberty and justice for all. Amen."
