John had a party at school on Friday morning, and then some friends hosted a big party in our compound that afternoon. On Saturday, we had another Halloween event at a local hospital, where John won first prize in the costume contest! Then we went out to trick-or-treat with friends in their neighborhood. They got tons of candy and are now suffering from the effects of too much candy and staying up too late. We'll finish up the weekend with a Halloween-themed birthday party for some good friends. All in all, a great Halloween in Shanghai.
