Our little boy is home from his first trip to camp! In a time-honored Connell tradition, John spent an extended weekend at TBarM's Family Camp with G and Grandpa (and Aunt April and Uncle Justin, and Brody, Abby, and Lorena, and Aunt Caitlin ...) and by all accounts, he had a wonderful time. It was so weird here without him, though I'm sure Betsy appreciated having us and the Legos all to herself.
He wasn't exactly roughing it, of course -- he was set up in a hotel room with his grandparents, and spent his days eating good food, playing with his cousins, and generally having a great time. [As a side note -- I don't have any pictures of this important milestone in my child's life. Aunt Caitlin has some great ones on Facebook, but if anyone has any files they would like to share I would be most appreciative. Thanks. ;-)]
We got to see him in full TBarM mode on Friday night, when we drove down to NB for date night with Uncle Dash and Aunt Shae (and Junior!). And unlike last year, we made it home without incident. Dash and Shae came to hang out for the weekend/play Rock Band/talk about baby stuff/babysit Betsy on Saturday night so that we could go to a wedding.
He's been sleeping very well since he got home and talks all the time about his "gold medal" and singing at Team Meeting. We're looking forward to next year, when we'll all get to go.
